2018 Goals

I was out to dinner with a friend the other day and in a very casual way she asked where I saw myself in five years. I had never been confronted with that question before and I had absolutely no clue. Literally nothing came to mind. I don’t even know what the plan should even look like.

The question has stayed on my mind and to be real, I felt as though I had failed in life becasue I don’t have a life plan. 

After a few sleepless nights (cause I’m dramatic) I’ve come to the conclusion that its okay to not have a clear picture of what the next five years of my life will look like. However, it made me realize that I do need to be more intentional about the life I am living and to set some clear goals that are going to help me to live my best life.

At the end of every year I sit down and think about what I want for the upcoming year. Like most people I go into the new year with full steam but by mid year I find myself completely off target.

I figured out that the main reason is becasue I don’t write my goals down in a place that is easily accessible so that I can review them and adjust course.That’s definitely changing for 2018.  I’ve created a space in my daily planner that houses my goals and I can easily get to it to make any necessary revisions. It’s also good for holding myself accountable.


  • pay down 3 credit cards to under 30% usage by June 2018
  • Debt free by December 2018
  • drop 1 dress size by March 25, 2018
  • review my goals every 3 months to progress monitor (ongoing)
  • read a new book every month
  • meal plan and prep weekly (Sundays)
  • visit 3 new cities
  • take 1 international trip

I’m still working on the five year plan but for now I think I’m on the right track by focusing one year at a time.
